Here at Hedging UK, we are specialist growers of Hedging Plants. Our hedging plants are grown and dispatched from our own plant nursery in the UK. A family run business based in Lancashire in the North West of England. Customers are able to buy hedging plants online through this website or direct in person from our Lancashire nursery (prior arrangement required). Trade enquiries are welcome. Growing only Hedging Plants since 2008, and now using our own Peat Free compost, we have a wealth of experience in this field. Whether you are looking for fast growing evergreen hedging, such as laurel plants or some privacy screening using fast growing conifer trees. For more formal hedges, we grow Yew Hedging and the ever popular Portuguese Laurel.

We also grow Griselinia and Elaeagnus hedging, which are great for coastal locations. Best Quality Hedging Plants

At Hedging UK, we grow top-quality container-grown evergreen and deciduous hedging plants.

We also grow instant hedges, meticulously cultivated in 1-metre lengths and nurtured until they reach a mature stage. The plants and their roots are already knitted together, creating an instant hedge. Simply choose the species, quantity, and height of the plants you’d like to order. All the plants for hedging are grown outside in our nursery in Holmeswood, Lancashire, producing robust plants that are quick to establish. Our hedging plants are available to purchase at wholesale prices across the UK through our mail order service.

Our nursery is not open to the general public. Whilst the nursery is predominantly a mail order business, customers are welcome to come and see our range of hedging plants and purchase plants at the nursery, but please do so by appointment only.

Our pre grown Instant hedges are perfect for creating privacy in your garden. Available for planting year-round, our Instant hedges are ready to go using a wide range of species at different heights and colours. We have some faster growing hedge species, such as Privet and Laurel hedges, that are great for quick results. Coastal hedging varieties for gardens where plants are exposed to salt laden winds, such as Griselinia, Elaeagnus and Euonymus hedging plants. Or for those looking for that certain look only a formal hedge can achieve, we have timeless classics such as the Portugal Laurel, the native Hornbeam and the King of Hedges, English Yew.

If you are looking for native hedging, we grow both Green Beech and Purple Beech hedges, which, whilst classed as deciduous, they do retain many of the leaves that crisp up and turn copper coloured in Autumn and stay on the hedges right through to Spring. Our instant hedges are carefully and continuously trimmed and fed through the growing season to create fuller hedges with more immediate impact.

Our new 40 Litre trough grown instant hedges provide a cheaper alternative to the bigger 90 Litre troughs. Many of the same species are available, still as a pre-grown hedge, only at lower heights than the larger troughs. We also have a range of low-level, smaller edge hedging often used to define edges of plant borders or create parterre gardens. We use a range of plants that were primarily used as Box / Buxus alternatives, as they don’t have the inherent problems associated with Buxus plants.

For those who want to grow and nurture their hedges themselves, and time is less of an issue, we also grow potted hedging plants mainly in 10-litre pots. We grow a wide range of hedging species, which, whilst smaller, offer a significant saving compared to the cost of an instant hedge. The 10-litre potted range of hedging comes in sizes from 60cm up to 150cm and taller, depending on species and time of year.
